![]() ![]() ![]() My Testimony
![]() This page is dedicated to my God and my belief system. In the following text you will find my testimony, the story of how I became a Christian and why it is so important to me. All I ask is that you respect my beliefs. If you feel that you can not respect my truths and experiences, than I ask you not to continue reading. If you have any questions about anything you read on this page, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]
Thank you.
I was raised in First Christian Church. We always went. It was what you did in my family. So naturally, God was something I accepted to be real. I was baptised in the fourth grade because it was just what you did. It never really meant anything to me because I didn't really have that personal relationship with God that I should have had. We left that church when family life started getting really messed up and they proved to us just how unChristian they could be. I sort of floated, didn't bother going; didn't really care. Let go of my beliefs, or rather, let go of the beliefs my parents had rasied me in.
In middle school everything sucked. Scotty was really messed up and I felt completely abandoned. Every morning I woke up grateful that I was still alive. In June of '98, right before I started the eighth grade, Scotty tried to commit suicide. It was the turning point. My strongest memory was sitting on my living room floor crying; not knowing if my brother was alive or dead; completly alone in the world. At that point God came down and sat next to me, put His arms around me and let me know that everything was going to be okay. And I had a decision to make. In the next year I dedicated myself to serving God because I knew with out Him I wouldn't be around, and it was only His influence in my life that had kept me going when times were hard. My very best friend Emily took me to her youthgroup where I discovered the love that Christians were suppose to have for each other. They accepted me and welcomed me and I became a radically saved Christian in to the pentecostal church.
Since then, I have had my ups and downs. There have been times when I have wanted to die, but in those moments God always reminds me that He didn't let me give up four years ago, and He's not going to let me give up now. And He will never give up on me. I've been pretty far gone and done some really stupid things, but God has been by my side the entire time and I will never forget His grace towards me.
What I Believe
As part of the Pentecostal branch of Christianity I believe in the following things:

- Matthew 28:18-20
